About UsThe Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland was founded in 1860 by a collection of gentlemen with forward thinking and a sense of vision. Their focus as is ours today is the promotion of agricultural excellence radiating from the Darling Downs and which we have continued for one hundred and forty - eight years. The Toowoomba Royal Show is the oldest event of its type in Queensland. In 1985 the R.A.S.Q. relocated to its current 245 acre purpose built site at Glenvale. Twenty-three years have evolved since relocation to these grounds and it is still growing, offering a first class venue to event organisers across the country, with the inclusion of one of Queensland’s largest indoor equestrian facilities and sales complex. The Toowoomba Royal Show comes under the banner of the Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland and for 2009 will be holding its 145th show for the people of the Darling Downs and surrounding regions. The show is organised and run with the assistance of the General Committee and over 300 volunteers and staff. The Ladies Auxiliary is a very passionate, dedicated and hard working group of ladies, who hold events & functions to raise funds, which go back into building maintenance and improvements. The current President of the Ladies Auxiliary is Mrs Joan McDonald. Due to the size of these facilities we have made arrangements with a number of local groups and businesses to use particular areas of the grounds on a permanent basis. These being:
